Labelexpo Americas 2014 celebrated its 25th anniversary last week with the most successful edition of the show ever.

The show, which ran September 9-11 at the Donald E. Stephens Exhibition Center in Rosemont, Illinois, saw a 12 percent increase in footfall, with 16,029 show visitors, and achieved an 83 percent onsite rebooking rate for 2016’s event.

Product launches included the new HP Indigo WS6800 and the Cheetah from Xeikon, as well as Mark Andy’s Digital Series hybrid inkjet/flexo press and Nuova Gidue’s M5 UV flexo press.

As well as a bustling show floor, Labelexpo Americas 2014’s new feature areas were well received by show visitors. The twice-daily Package Printing Workshop sessions presented by Delta Industrial and Xeikon were well attended by label converters looking for new ways to diversify and grow their business.

The interactive Smart Mart demonstrated some of the latest developments in active and intelligent labels and packaging with the newest advances in augmented reality, QR codes and scanners, RFID and NFC-enabled smart tags, temperature indicating packaging and films that prevent food spoilage all showcased.

Further, the associated conference program attracted almost 1,100 delegates, another record, and consisted of 16 different sessions and 64 individual moderators, panelists and speakers.
