Herma Self-adhesive Materials has introduced an online calculator tool designed to optimize labeling processes and facilitating planning.
Before placing an order, the label user can align the key parameters, including number of labels or outside diameter of roll, with their individual needs and improve the planning of labeling processes.
As an example, given a maximum label roll outside diameter of 300mm, the calculator can be used to determine how many labels the roll can accommodate. And a user who is accustomed to using relatively small rolls can determine how many additional labels would fit on the roll without exceeding the maximum outside diameter allowed by his labeling system.
Label printers can benefit from using the calculator also, according to Herma, as in the past they have generally relied on the ordering system for performing such calculations. Given that it is intended primarily for users wishing to enter order details, however, the procedure is much more laborious. The label calculator operates in much the same way as the existing Herma roll calculator for adhesive materials.
‘With just a few taps or clicks, customers can use a smartphone, tablet or desktop PC to calculate the number of labels and outside diameter of a certain roll of label stock for any combination of materials or adhesive material thickness,’ explained Ralf Drache, head of sales at Herma. ‘The Herma label materials and adhesives are easy to select in the drop-down lists. Anyone can put together an individual combination with very little effort.’
The label calculator can be accessed via the Herma website at www.herma-material.de/en/service/label-calculator.html, and can be used without downloading and installing an app. Registration and logging in are likewise not needed. The only requirement is access to the internet. Once loaded, the label calculator can be added to the start screen of devices as a web app. It is available in German, English, French and Dutch.
